Getting There
Before embarking on your trip to tuscany make sure that your travel documents are all prepared. Usually, citizens of the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the E.U.only require a valid passport with 6 months validity in it to enter Italy.Once in Italy, your passport will be stamped with a 3 month tourist visa. Citizens of other countries on the other hand need a passport as well as a visa which they could get at their nearest Italian embassy.
There are two international airports which may serve as your entry point into Tuscany. The Galileo Galilei International Airport located in Pisa and the Amerigo Vespucci airport located in Florence handles flights coming in from North America and major European cities as well.
The Galileo Galilee International Airport manages most of the flights coming from European countries. The airport has also direct access to Florence and Livorno and trains located outside the departure halls take you to the mentioned cities.
The Amerigo Vespucci airport which is located on the north western edge of Florence has the advantage of straight access to the Florence-Pisa motorway. Taxis and shuttle bus link the airport to Florence's historical center.
While in Tuscany you may travel by train to the different towns and cities of the region or you may use the bus or rent a car. Whichever mode of transportation you use, you would surely enjoy the many splendid scenery that awaits you in Tuscany.
