If you are planning to visit Tuscany for the very first time, you will realize that it is one of the best holiday areas. The ideal period for you to travel to Tuscany is in May, September or October. The weather during this time is mild and the surroundings are very beautiful at this time of the year. The summer season in this region is without rain and very warm.

As you eat in restaurants you are not expected to give a tip. If you are staying in a high priced accommodation then it is expected that you tip the porter.

Most businesses in this region open at 9am and closes at 1pm for the lunch break. It usually takes 3 to 4 hours before reopening again.

You may want to rent a car while touring Tuscany. Make sure you have an international driver's license when you do so. Italian drivers are more adapted to driving much closer than other countries. While driving, your only responsibility is to your front and to your side. If you encounter any pedestrians, they have the right to walk straight and you should be the one avoiding them.

There are a lot of stores in Tuscany that offer a great shopping experience. Quality leather goods, silk scarves, jewelry and linen are available. Make sure to keep your receipts upon purchasing since there is a law that strictly monitors the payment of taxes.
